Robyn Waffle graduated with a degree in Fashion Communications from Ryerson University in 2006. She found her means of expression in illustration, painting her fashion drawings on six-foot-tall canvases.

In October 2006 Robyn presented her first solo collection of black and white illustrations in a gallery on Queen West in Toronto. The successful show launched her career in art and design.

Robyn branded herself rybonArt, pronounced (rib.bon)Art, in her final year at Ryerson and has worked as a painter, illustrator and event planner over the past five years. She has produced five solo exhibitions of her artwork in Toronto and Vancouver, and in 2008 she worked as the curator at Charlie's Gallery on Harbord Street in Toronto.

In December 2010 Robyn returned from Vancouver, where she studied painting for two years, to join forces with Reznick Carpets to become the Creative Director of a modern rug design devision of the company. Together they built a twelve-hundred square foot studio in the Castlefield Design District in Toronto and named the new devision; Modallion.

Since beginning the project Robyn has entered new exciting territory for her talent to explore. She has been challenged to design everything from a twelve-foot-high steel door, to the logo, business cards and website, to a series of 4x6' and 8'x10' rugs exhibited at the Interior Design Show in January 2012.

At Modallion Robyn has collaborated with various talents from across Toronto creating innovative rug designs. Some of these collaborators include: Jeanne Beker, John Kennedy, Glen Peloso and Karl Lohnes.
